Quality Management for the
Automotive Sector
About IATF 16949
IATF 16949 is the automotive quality management standard published by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF). It was created to harmonize the different quality requirements of automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and to improve quality throughout the automotive supply chain. IATF 16949 is based on ISO 9001, but with additional requirements specific to the automotive sector. In order to be certified to IATF 16949, organizations must demonstrate their commitment to quality and continuous improvement, as well as their ability to meet customer requirements. SAAS-accredited certification bodies may issue certificates to companies worldwide that conform to the requirements of IATF 16949.
